Mumma's Boy

This is the last of the layouts, that I did late the other night - I gave up in my quest to find the perfect coloured alphas, and just inked some white ones. Even though it's not the exact same blue as in the papers, I think it works.

I really, really wanted to do a layout using this photo (it's one from a photo shoot we had when Benji was about 2 weeks old)- but since I only just started getting back into scrapping again, I dont have many boyish papers or embellishments. But then I remembered that I bought a cute little 6x6 pad of papers from Big W - so I figured I would just use them...Why not, scrapping isn't just about using the latest and greatest products, it's about the memories.

Lily's Birthday, and Late Night Scrapping

It's a very special day in our household today....Lily turned the big FOUR!!
I can't believe my baby girl is 4, it honestly still feels like yesterday that I was meeting her for the first time.

The Birthday Girl:

And her presents patiently waiting to be unwrapped this morning:

Last night, I had the the Genius idea to start scrapping at 8:30pm, and kept going until 11:30pm - not so clever when you have a small baby in the house!! Im feeling it today!!
I managed to get 3 layouts done, but one I have yet to finish as I cant find the right alphas for the title.

The Roach's
Based on an older sketch from Design Dollies (well not that old, it was the February sketch).
It's a collage I made from some of my favourite photos from our recent family photoshoot, I used a 5x7 photo so that none of the little images came up so small that you couldn't tell what they are actually of. I actually really like scrapping in this size - for someone who doesnt like/do journalling it fills the page up that little bit more.

Details:
I had to go hunting for that Lil' Red Rocket button, as a certain little blonde girl had stolen it and claimed it as her own, but Im glad that I found it. I think it suits the layout perfectly!

CRAZY!
Layout is based on sketch #91 from Creative Scrappers.
I heard that particular saying (which I used as the title), and it kinda just stuck - and then I remembered that Lily took a selfie with a pair of (clean) knickers on her head...so a layout was born!

Details:

I also did a layout the other night, which I haven't shared yet.

She's a Kindy Kid
Because Lily turns 4 this year, and was born in the first half of the year, she was able to start Kindy. She does a 5 day fortnight, which is split 3/2 (there's over 100 kindy kids at Lily's school so the school had to split them up and half of them do 3 days on the even weeks, and 2 days on the odd weeks, and vise versa).
The photo was taken on Lily's first day (it was actual my photo for the day, for 365 project), as we were getting ready to ride/walk to school.

I'm off to relax - one (big) baby in bed, and only the little one to go!

Stuck?! March 15 Sketch

I always look forward to the new Stuck?! sketch coming out - I find that for a minimalist scrapper like myself they are always do-able and not too much (if that makes any sense?)

The newest one was no exception, as soon as I saw it I knew which photo I would use - one of Lily from the family photos we had taken at the beginning of the month.

LOVE this girl:

Project 365 Layouts

It's been too long since I last updated my blog, and scrapped for that matter!
On the weekend, I managed to break that drought and completed 2 layouts - both for my project 365 album.

Every month at the end of the month, I make a collage with all the photos I have taken during the month, and I usually put my favourite one as the main, larger photo on the middle.

January (based on the January 2011 Anna's Craft Cupboard Sketch):

Back (I have a calendar in the family room, and since the whole idea of the project is to document a year in our lives, I figured I may as well keep the pages as I rip them off and stick them on the backs of the layouts):

Some Recent Scrapping, and Project 365

I was lucky enough to spend the day scrapping with my two favourite ladies (Christine and Sarah) on the weekend - even with the baby with me (ok, he was only with me for a couple of hours and then Ian picked him up and took him home to sleep) I managed to do three layouts.
I was so inspired, that I actually started and finished another layout that night at home by myself.

I had actually been saying during the day that I needed to start doing some boy layouts in 'brights' as I am having trouble finding boyish papers in the muted tones that I like. Well I did do a layout using brights, but it was a girl layout! This design is actually a scraplift of myself - I was so eager to do a layout, and I liked the other layout I did using this design so I copied myself :)

Outdoorsie kind of Girl:

Detail Shot:

Two of the other layouts I completed are exact copies of each other, and based on an old Stuck?! Sketch. I did one for each of the kiddies albums (when I eventually get around to organising my albums [and actually buying a new one for Benji]).

Instant Love:
I know that Lily's one is a little crooked, but I have never hidden the fact that I cant rule straight with a ruler, so I left it because 'it's me'.

The other layout is actually based on a current sketch, so I will do a another post up to add that one in.

PROJECT 365
Ian, and I decided to undertake the massive task of taking a photo a day of our little family, so that in the years to come we can look back and see just how much we all changed over the course of 2011. So far, so good! We havent forgotten to take a photo yet!
This is a link to our album, if you want to have a look ...click...

On Monday (January 3), I headed to a (not so) local park to take some photos of my sister and her hubby, and while we were there I managed to snap a few photos of my babies. This one is my favourite of the whole day (unfortunately it didnt make it into project 365, as I had already uploaded a photo (I didnt know at the time that we would be going out later that day).

Introducing Benji Roman

Now, there are 4:

Benji and Roman (hahaha he still expects me to call him Dad, but given I named the baby after him, I will call him Roman :-P):

We had some professional photos taken, and this is my favourite:

November Stuck Sketch

It has only taken me about 6 months, but finally I have scrapped an actual layout again - and the first one of my little man (although you wouldn't neccessarily know that, since it's not of his cute little face).

I loved the sketch, and as soon as I saw it I knew that this photo would be perfect - I wanted the photo to be the focus.

This is the original sketch:

And my take on it:
