Layouts from the weekend.

This weekend I managed to get some scrapping done, normally I dont scrap on the weekends as it's our family time. We have still managed to spend time together, I have just been staying up late!

First up is my take on the second sketch of the month over at Stuck?! I usually try and play along with at least one of the sketches, and totally forgot about it this month until I saw Chloe's blog (so thanks Chloe).
This is a photo that hubby took of the Petronas Towers while we were in KL. As much as I might bitch and moan that he never gets any good photos (of Lily and I) every now and then he takes an awesome shot.

Detail Shot:
I recently bought a whole heap of fabric buttons off ebay (and I *may* have already been back and ordered some more), and I knew as soon as I saw this one that it would go perfectly with some of our KL photos.

Next is a layout for one of the monthly challenges over at Mystical (nothing like leaving it to the last minute!). Donna set the criteria of having to use some song lyrics on the layout - so I chose the soppy Bryan Adams song "Everything I do (I do it for you)".

Detail Shot:
Another fabric button, but this time it's another from Lil Red Rocket.

And lastly, here's another sneaky:
You'll have to check out Scraps of Us on February 1st to see the full layout.

Totally inspired by...

I have quite a few of the Jenni Bowlin bracket shaped papers in my stash (I seem to accumulate them in kits), and since I dont scrap in the 12x12 format I had no idea what to do with them. That was until I saw Fran's blog! After seeing how she cut one to fit an 8.5x11 layout, I was inspired to get out my scissors and double sided tape and have a go.

Beautiful Girl - was the result.

Detail Shots:

See that super cute little fabric button - that's from Lil Red Rocket, Shell makes the most gorgeous buttons and hair elastics, and she's super nice to boot!!

It's HOME!!!!

My CJ that I started last year over at Scrapbooking Memories, that is. It is actually one entry short, but hopefully in the not too distant future I will be able to send it directly to Jaimie and she will be able to complete her entry for me.

It's come home looking a little fatter than when it set off on it's journey around Australia - but that's all part of the fun.

I just want to say thanks to all over the lovely ladies who added an entry to my journal - it really means alot to me that you chose to share these parts of your life with me.

Now for some piccies, I have resized them as small as I can on my computer, but purely due to the amount of photos, it will no doubt take a while to load them all.

FRONT COVER:

INSTRUCTIONS AND WELCOME PAGE (I also added a page with the order and addresses of everyone it had to be sent to, but obviously I am not sharing that here):

MY ENTRY:

CHRISTINE'S ENTRY:

RENAE'S ENTRY:

JENNI'S ENTRY:

BEC'S ENTRY:

SKYE'S ENTRY:

Some photos of my baby girl

This afternoon Lily and I were lucky enough to be able to spend the afternoon at the beach with Christine and her beautiful daughters Josie and Sammi (it was Josie's birthday) - HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOSIE!!

Lily had a great time playing in the playground (well that was until she slipped over and got a teeny tiny cut on her toe, but the way she was carrying on you would have been forgiven for thinking that she needed to be rushed to the nearest hospital - that's three year olds for you! hahaha). Once she calmed down - she was even lucky enough to get to have a swim with the birthday girl!

While we were at the beach, I managed to snap these photos of Lil.

She looks so serious in this one.

Normally when I try and take a photo of her, I get this posed half squinty, tongue poking out, face - so these ones are a nice change (oh and it's also a real surprise that there is no food smooshed all over her face LOL).

I also had a little play around in my new favourite program...Picasa, and in the first photo I saturated the colours, and in the second one I just added the soft focus around the edges to give it that dreamy look.

I am by no means an expert, but I am loving all the things that you can do just with one little click of a mouse button.

I've been scrapping

Mystical had their very first cyber crop for the year this past weekend, and I managed to get two of the challenges done, that's got to be a record for me (well it's not all entirely my fault I have two whole days to myself during the week when Lily is at 'school' and Ian is at work, so I feel guilty if I scrap too much on the weekends).

Here's one of the challenges, it was for Christine's blind scrap:

Detail Shot:
I love that little Bambi (Lily also loves playing with it, and every night will come and ask me to do some stamping - the wooden block is now ruined with ink smeared all over it, but hey - it makes my baby girl happy so Im not fussed).

Oh wow, I also just realised that this is my 100th post - it only took me almost 2 years!!

Butterfly Crafts Reveal - January

This is my layout for the new prompt up at Butterfly Crafts - you have to scrap your favourite season.
For challenge 27 I would like you to scrap your favorite season of the year. Come on, we have four to choose from; winter, spring, summer or fall. If you live in Utah, like me, you have more than four including: sprinter (spring and winter), sprummer (spring and summer), fummer (summer and fall), finter (fall and winter). Let's see those seasonal pages!

It's not my greatest layout - but it was the first one I had done in weeks, and weeks.

Here's another sneak peek of a layout that should be up in the next week or so, over at Scraps of Us.

If you're looking for something to do for the rest of the weekend (not that there is much left of it), there is a CC running over at Mystical, the challenges arent due until Midnight Monday 18th January.

I scrapped...

for the first time in over a month (it's actually probably almost 2 months). This time of year is just crazy, plus I did start a casual job for a little while (but I have since given that up).

I cant show the full layout, as it's for the Butterfly Crafts reveal on January 15th. Check back here in a couple of days for the full layout.

Other than that, I have started on a new CJ swap that's being run over on Mystical. My theme is "My Bucket List", I have always wanted to do a layout/cj on this theme, and there is a great bunch of girls involved, so I am really excited and looking forward to this swap starting.

This is the front cover, it's a combination of Stampin Up stuff that I got from Alishia and a beautiful Prima swirl which I cut up to fit the size of the journal.

And a close up, because I just love a good close up!

Oh and remember this CJ:

Well it's with the beautiful Sarah, on it's final stop before it comes home. I *may* have had a very quick sneak peek when I had in my possession for a couple of hours (it was dropped off at my house for Sarah to pick it up as it was only down the road from me at Dina's house), and it is looking fantastic - I love getting a CJ back at the end, and seeing the different styles from every scrapper involved.
