Project Life 2012 - Week Forty Six

I can't believe that 2012 is almost over! Seems like just yesterday we were ringing in the new year, and then somehow it became late November!

Main Spread, without Extra Inserts

Main Spread, with Extra Inserts
We had a pretty busy week, so that meant lots and lots of photos were taken!
I went to the midnight screening of Breaking Dawn Part 2 with my friend, and my sister and her husband, I pretty much only went to the movie as I had been to most of the other midnight screenings, but I walked out of the movie a fan all over again! If you haven't seen the movie...go and see it!

I was able to spend Friday night with some other Project Lifers who live near me, I didn't really achieve much (far too much talking on my part), but it was so much fun, and I can't wait to have another meet up!

On the weekend Ian and I went to the Nickelback concert, and the kids had a sleepover.

I had two inserts this week - an 8x10 for Take Twelve 2012 (and a different photo on the back), and then a 6x8 for the kids weekend away at Nannie and Ya-Ya's.

Back of Insert One & Insert Two
The kids slept over my parents house on the weekend, and when we picked them up my brother took us all out on his boat. I actually really love both the photos in this spread (my Mum took both of them). The one of the boat, I really like that you can see my Dad holding the boat while we pose for the photo.  And that one of him playing with the kids is just really special, he loves the kids and whenever they see him, both of them follow him around like little puppy dogs (they don't see him much because he works Fly in - Fly out on a 4-and-1 roster (four weeks at work at the mine, and 1 week at home).

Back of Insert Two
I made a collage of some of the photos Mum took, while the kids were at her house.

Nickelback Insert
I used another flip up pocket to hold a couple concert photos, as well as our tickets...love these things!

Project Life 2012 - Week Forty One

Another week down, and still loving everything about this project!

I thought that I had made up my mind about which kit I will be using next year (Seafoam), but yesterday I received Cherry in the mail from Craft House, and I really, really LOVE that kit too! I guess I will now have to wait until I get Seafoam and then decide!

Main Spread, without Inserts

It was still school holidays in Perth, so it was mostly a week of hanging around the house, play dates and going to the movies.

Main Spread, with extra Inserts / Insert One

This week I had three extra inserts - a 6x8, a 5x7 and an 8x10 (plus a little Smiggle tag that I got on an awesome little stapler I bought).

My parents bought Benji a cute Mario remote control car for his birthday, and so on Monday we went to the park to have a play with it. He might only be 2, but he totally knew what he was doing with that car!

Back of Insert One & Insert Two

Lily got a certificate sent to her from our insurer from her time in hospital...it totally made her day!

The kids had a play date with their friends that live across the road. Even though Benji is the littlest by about 3 years, they all play together so well.

Back of Insert Two & Insert Three

The 12th fell during this week, so it was time for another shot at Take Twelve. It was made even more interesting by the fact that I took the kids into the City to see Peppa Pig!

Back of Insert Three

Benji was terrified of Peppa, luckily Ian only works across the road, and so he came over and held Benj so that I could get a photo.
The colour is a little 'off' in that photo, so I will have to take it back and reprint it.

I also did some different in this weeks photos. That bottom right of the kids watching the iPad in their home-made tent, is actually a flip up photo pocket.

Take Twelve: October 2012

I have actually been keeping up with this project all year, but just got really slack at posting them on the blog!

It was a Peppa Pig themed day!
I caught the train into the city with Benji and my friend (and her two kids), and Lily came in with my sister and her hubby, as she has slept over the night before.

After meeting Peppa Pig (and Benji having a major freakout!), we stayed for some lunch, and then it was time to go home...poor Benj was so tired he fell asleep as soon as the train started moving!

Here's a little photo of the kids with Peppa Pig, notice Ian is holding Benji and he's still crying! But then, he came home and all he wanted to do was watch Peppa Pig on DVD!!

Both of these photos will be going into my Project Life album for Week 41.

Take Twelve: June 2012

Half way through the year, and still totally loving this project!
I actually did take these photos on the 12th, but as I went away overseas on the 14th, I never got the chance to upload them.

As usual (and by now should go without saying), this collage will be going into my Project Life Album.

Project Life 2012 - Week Nineteen

This weeks layout is probably my favourite layout so far this year...big call, I know!!
But, I just love all the extra inserts that I managed to keep and include in the album, and I know that in the years to come, I will treasure all of these things.

Main Spread - without extra inserts

We had a few big events this week - Mother's Day was obviously an important one, but there were a few other little things that I am glad to have been able to record. A special one included Benji going into a big boy bed (okay, so all I really did was take the side rail off his cot, but still it's a huge deal that he's not "in jail" any more!)

Main Spread - with extra inserts (there were lots!)
I had five inserts all up, and I LOVE every.single.one.of.them!

Inside of insert 1 (a Mother's Day card made at school by Lily)
I love little-kid writing, and am glad that I get to keep this as a record from Lily's life right now.

Insert 2
Another thing I LOVE about young school-age children, is the little art works that they bring home. Lily made this flower for me, and included some of the things that she loves about me.

Inside of insert 3
(you can see the front of the card through the plastic slip in the previous photo).

Insert 4 - A clear plastic envelope-thinggy with some received post cards in it.
This envelope didn't have am holes punched in it, but I couldn't find any of the binder pencil cases that I wanted, so I just bought this type and punched my own holes in it.

Insert 5 - Take Twelve (May) 2012
For this month, I did something a little different. May 12 just happened to be the date of my friends Hens Night (I was a bridesmaid) and so, I decided to only have photos from that night included in the collage. This photo collage was never posted on my blog as part of the Take Twelve posts, as it's more of an adults only type collage - there *may* have been a lot of alcohol involved!

The Take Twelve Collage
*Just in case it's un-clear in the photos - that's a blow up doll in the photos - we would never man-handle a real man this way!*

Back of insert 5
Because I never blogged about Take Twelve, I didn't have a blog post to print out, so I simply placed the Hens Night invite in behind the photo collage.

Project Life 2012 - Weeks Fifteen, Sixteen and Seventeen

These are the weeks, where I first got a little behind with my album. Lily was on school holidays, and we were enjoying time at home, and not really doing too many interesting things.
So, for these weeks (especially weeks 16 & 17) I don't have many extra inserts - I'm still glad to have them documented, but it shows that I wasn't paying too much attention to making sure I kept things to put into my album.

WEEK FIFTEEN
 Main Spread, without extra inserts

Kept up with the Wordless Wednesday posts that I started in week 14.
We did a lot of home based activities this week - going to the park, playing with the iPad, my parents came over and helped the kids plant a garden in the front yard, and we went out to lunch. This was also the week that included Easter Monday, so we had a public holiday trip to King's Park.

Main Spread, with extra inserts

The extra inserts this week include: a 6x8 photo collage of our day at King's Park, Benji's 18 month check-up wrap-up, and Take Twelve (April).

Insert 1:

Back of Insert 2
As always, I printed out my Take Twelve blog post, and put it on the back of the photo collage.

WEEK SIXTEEN
Main Spread - without extra inserts
This week fell right in the middle of school holidays, so there were a few play dates, and trips to the movies.

Main Spread - with extra inserts
There was actually only one insert this week - a poster from a meet-the-author that I went to, and on the back a scanned copy of one of Lily's drawings.

WEEK SEVENTEEN
Main Spread - without extra inserts
Back to school...finally this week, after 3 weeks of school holidays!

I just noticed that the bottom photo has come out quite dark, so here it is:

Main Spread - with extra insert
Just the one insert this week - an awesome little plane that Benji painted during craft time at the local library - it was too cute not to keep!

I will hopefully be back later on today with some of the remaining weeks to share - if the kids play nice, Lily is home "sick" today...it remains to be seen how "sick" she really is!

Take Twelve: April 2012

Another month down, and I'm still completely loving this awesome way to document our lives!

It's school holidays here (in Perth), at the moment, so it was easy to get enough photos, some months it has been, and will more than likely continue to be a bit harder when it's just Benji and I at home during the day. Although, having just thought about it, out of the four months so far this year, 2 of them have been on school holidays (one over the summer, and now this lot of Easter holidays), and one of them was a Sunday, so I guess I shouldn't complain too much!

As usual, this insert will be going into my Project Life album.

Project Life 2012 - Week Eleven

My layouts for week ten haven't been posted on the blog yet, and that's simply because I am waiting on some photos that were taken at Lily's Acro class on the Saturday morning.
Here's a quick look at the almost completed week ten:

Now, onto Week Eleven.
This was an unusually busy week in our household; March Take Twelve fell in this week, I got a new phone, Benji was sick (again!), Lily's school had it's annual fair, Lily had her birthday party on Saturday, and she was also invited to another party on Sunday!

Main Spread, without extra inserts:

Main Spread, with extra inserts:
This week I included 3 extra inserts, one of which is possibly my favourite insert ever!!

Insert 1 Take Twelve: March

Back of insert 1 & insert 2:

As always, I printed off the blog post that belonged to my Take Twelve post and put it in behind the photo collage.
The next insert I LOVE, at Lily's party on Saturday, I got all the kids up on the play equipment and got a group photo - now it's not perfect, it's really hard to get all the kids looking at the camera at the same time, but I think it's awesome!
On the back I printed another one of the groups shots and stuck that in too - that way I could give the kids a second chance to look at the camera!

Back of insert 2 & insert 3:

Insert 3, is the insert I mentioned before (about possibly being my favourite!), it's a 2x2" coin collector page protector, and in it I kept a bit of the wrapping paper from each gift that Lily was given, and the other spaces were taken up with little photos (and a couple bits of the Hungry Jack's birthday party invitation that we gave out).
Prior to the party, I had set myself the task of trying to get a photo of Lily with each of her friends that attended that party - I'm happy to say that I was successful! I think that using my phone really helped in this task!

Group Shots:

Birthday Party Insert:

I have whited out a few of the kids faces, as I don't have the parents permission to put their photos up on the net.
Sorry about all the glare - it's really hard to take photos of these little page protectors!

I also got to try something that I first saw last week, and thought was pretty cool - QR Codes. You should be  able to scan  the code straight off the computer screen and see the video.

As always, I am linking up with Jessica at The Mom Creative:
